About Lovecraft's Untold Stories

Five investigators have different stories, weapons and abilities, and the randomized levels vary with the chosen character. Gathering information prepares your mind for encounters with the Great Old Ones, but exploration also exposes you to decisions that can damage your sanity. Finding all the information requires playing across the cast. Loss of sanity can end an investigator’s life, although ways to recover sanity exist.

What makes it worth a look?

  • The detective balances health and stamina. The ranged professor has lower health but a Tillinghast shield; the witch combines heavy damage, teleportation and elemental shields with very low health.
  • The thief uses stealth to strengthen melee attacks. The ghoul combines powerful melee, high health and regeneration but cannot use medkits.
  • Collect and improve weapons, equipment and artifacts, and find clues that open secret levels and further stories.
  • Investigations travel through mansions, hospitals, jungle and a port city. Special levels confront Cthulhu, Nyarlathotep, Dagon, Shub-Niggurath and Azathoth.
