About Etrian Odyssey HD

The town of Etria sits beside a vast forest labyrinth that draws explorers in search of treasure and answers. You form a party from nine character classes and descend through its layers, combining exploration with turn-based encounters. Mapping the environment is a defining activity across the Origins remasters, making this a clear choice for players seeking traditional, navigation-led dungeon crawling.

The HD version updates the graphics and soundtrack and adds conveniences such as difficulty selection, additional save slots and easy access to the quest log and skill tree. Party composition remains central: different classes provide different ways to approach the journey. This is a single-player adventure, available on Windows through Steam and on Nintendo Switch, with full controller support listed on Steam. Legend of Grimrock 2 is another classic single-player party crawler, with grid-based movement but real-time battles and a heavier emphasis on environmental puzzles.
