About Descending: Curse of the Blood Crown

Build an active party of up to six heroes from 18 races and 12 professions. Randomly generated recruits can be hired and swapped into the party, while secondary Masteries have requirements and grant distinctive abilities.

Death can be reversed by magic or healer NPCs. Wounds leave removable attribute penalties, and aging also reduces attributes as heroes grow older.

What makes it worth a look?

  • Grid-based movement and rotation can be paired with a free look-around camera; most heroes have ranged options in turn-based combat.
  • Camping meals improve attributes and rituals provide buffs or healing. Morale songs and random camping encounters are later plans.
  • Generated equipment combines a quality modifier with prefix and suffix enchantments. Dungeons contain traps and hidden rooms, while the world has weather, day/night changes and timed events.
  • The planned world spans roughly 75 maps of up to 50 × 50 tiles, organized into 14 chapters of four to eight overworld maps. The intended demo covers four maps in the first chapter, the Ironsworn Isles.

Is this game right for you or your group?

  • Exploration emphasis Lore is intentionally light, with greater emphasis on exploring, fighting and developing the party.
  • Editor roadmap The development tools include a top-down map editor and data editing for abilities, items, races, professions and related systems. Workshop/data sharing and a 3D fly-camera editor remain planned.
